Games – No team time in Toliara would be complete without some game playing! Current favorites: Ticket to Ride (the card and board games), Telephone-Pictionary, and Wii. My favorite thing about game-playing is that it really does help you get to know people. Sometimes games bring out parts of people’s personalities you might not normally see, while other times they emphasizes the things you know best about others . . . and it’s fun!
The beach – There is really only one main source of entertainment in Toliara: the beach! But every journey out to the dune-surrounded desert we call our beach involves some risk. This time, we got stuck. Maybe it was planned. :) The experience definitely provided ample opportunities for language practice, cooperation, innovative problem solving, and even a chance to try out the new wench/tow strap!
Bible study – Jodie has been teaching a ladies Bible study for women at our church and another local church. Going to this Bible study together with our two new Southwest Mada team ladies was such a blessing! We are so blessed that God has called them here!
Trip to the Bush – The Hailes family, as well as Steve Roberts, went with Grant and Doug and Nathan to experience the rural area south of Toliara for the first time. What a blessing for them to see some of the places and people they’ve been praying for!
Valentine's Day - While half of our team was in the rural area, the rest of us celebrated Valentine's Day with a lovely dinner and cupcakes, thanks to Nickolee! Yay!
